Remote Sensing

A revolution is sweeping through the remote sensing world at the moment and Google Earth Engine is at the center of it. We have hopped on board and have developed a proficiency in Java Script within the Google Earth Engine environment. This affords us the ability to perform complex analyses on global spectral imagery in a fraction of the time it used to take with tools like ArcGIS and QGIS. Some of the applications we have worked on include:

  • Rangeland degradation monitoring
  • National land cover classification and change assessment
  • Crop cycle monitoring and yield prediction
  • Soil erosion risk
  • Coastal fog incidence and hind-casting
  • Fresh- and salt-water quality assessment
  • Terrain analysis
  • Identifying areas encroached by woody plants
